Launch Elder Scrolls Online and Login on Windows 8
Edited by Grimm, Rushell, Eng
You're watching VisiHow, and today we're going to show you how to launch The Elder Scrolls Online, login and get started playing.
Steps
1
The first thing we need to do is find "The Elder Scrolls Online" shortcut on the desktop
.
It is a series of beasts, one eating the other's tail to form a circle. We should have this on the desktop because of the last tutorial on how to create a desktop and Start menu shortcut on Windows 8.
2
Double click on the icon to open "The Elder Scrolls" launcher
.
3
We may see a "System Message" pop up, to which we can click on "Close"
.
4
Under "GAMES" on the left side it states, "The Elder Scrolls Online (EU)", indicating that we are on the "EU" server
.
There's an EU Megaserver and a North American Megaserver. We can choose whichever one.
5
We want to click on "PLAY" in the bottom right-hand corner
.
However, first let's note some of the other options in the window.
6
At the top of the screen are four functions, "ACCOUNT", "STORE", "SUPPORT" AND "PATCH NOTES"
.
We'll discuss these in a later tutorial.
7
For now, let's click on "PLAY"
.
8
Once we've clicked on "PLAY", it's going to initialize the first set of screens
.
Click the mouse to skip past these if desired.
9
Once the intro scenes have passed, we will be shown the latest and greatest "ANNOUNCEMENTS" in a window at the bottom of the screen
.
10
The "USERID" should already be filled in, so all we need to do is enter our "PASSWORD"
.
11
The other options on the left, "SETTINGS", "CREDITS" and "QUIT" will be discussed in another tutorial
.
12
We'll enter our "PASSWORD" and then tap ENTER or click on "LOGIN"
.
13
To bypass the intro video, press the Esc key or click on the screen
.
We'll let it play, but speed it up at times, to show a quick glimpse at what the game looks like.
14
Once that amazing intro is done, we will be in the character creation window
.
This is our portal to the game. We will want to choose an "ALLIANCE", a "RACE", and some professions. We can also choose how we look, especially if we are initially one of these crazy looking cat people. Those are all discussions for another tutorial. Make sure to check those out by searching for them here on VisiHow.
15
For now, this concludes this tutorial on how to launch into The Elder Scrolls Online game from the desktop shortcut icon that you've created in Windows 8
.
If you have questions, comments or suggestions about this or any of the other videos on VisiHow, please let us know. Otherwise, thanks for watching and have a good day. See you in game!
