Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to invert selection of files on Windows 8 computers. First, we need a folder that contains several icons of folders or applications.

    Let's open the file explorer. In this case, we will double-click the "This PC" shortcut on our desktop.

    Double-click on a folder containing several items. For this example, we will choose one called "VisiHow".

    Press and hold the "Ctrl" key. Click two items. We will click "X Archive Data" and then also "VisiHow". These two folders are now selected. Let's invert the selection.
