Install the Carousel Photo Management App on iPhone 6
Edited by Grimm, Leomar Umpad, Eng
You are watching VisiHow and today we are going to teach you how to get 3 gigabytes of free space on DropBox and install the Carousel Photo Management app.
Steps
1
To start off, give a single press to the lock screen button on the right side of your phone
.
This will open you up to the lock screen.
2
On the lock screen, you can swipe to unlock or you can just press your thumb or another finger on the Home button which is also the fingerprint scanner
.
3
Now it lets you get on the phone
.
When you are on the phone, you are looking for the App Store icon. It is a blue square with a white circle and a white letter which indicates that A is for Apps Store. We are going to press on the App Store icon
4
This is going to open up the App Store icon
.
The App Store, by default, moves to the featured area where you can see a list of new and featured articles. We are not interested in featured articles, we are interested in Carousel.
5
6
This will bring up a list of Trending Searches
.
Depending on the day and where you are, you will see different searches. Where you are is actually less dependent than the actual App Store you are in. The North American App Store will obviously have different Trending Searches than, for example, the Chinese or Russian App stores.
7
Now, tap on the search bar
.
What you are going to search for is Carousel, so type in 'C' and then we are looking for 'A'. Let's see if we have Carousel - not yet.
8
Type in R, do we have it yet
?
No.
9
10
Then we have Carousel by Dropbox
.
11
Tap on Carousel by Dropbox
.
If you are tapping, like mine, doesn't do anything, then let's do it again.
12
Now that I have tapped Carousel by Dropbox, you can see the application has opened up
.
There is a special running where if you have installed Dropbox and you go from your mobile phone, like I have here, and you download and install Carousel, you will receive free three gigabytes on your Dropbox account. This is huge because in my case I only have three gigabytes. So now I got six double space just by downloading this application
13
Now, what you are going to do is to Get, Open, Install or tap on a little cloud button to get Carousel installed into your phone
.
Once this is installed, you will need to launch the app. You should still be able to do that from your App Store. Now, I just simply tap on OPEN.
14
You will see the Carousel will launch and open up
.
This is a gallery from Dropbox for your photos and videos. You can swipe up to continue as I showed you on the intro panel.
15
16
It is like three little monkeys jumping on the bed only in this case now, it is falling off and bump his head
.
17
We can create a Dropbox account
.
18
Or we can Sign into my Dropbox account
.
19
If you watch on previous videos on Setting up Dropbox, then you will already have a Dropbox account
.
If you have not, you need to tap the Create a Dropbox account.
20
This will be the option for creating a Dropbox account
.
You allow Carousel to access your photos and agree the terms, etc. and then create your Dropbox account. Carousel just requires your first name, last name, email, and password - honestly you can make up all of that later. You can get a fake email from Google, Gmail, Microsoft, or where else you prefer if you are worried about personal stuff.
21
Now, you can tap back on Create Account
.
22
We are going to sign into my Dropbox
.
23
One tap will allow me to sign into Dropbox
.
You have to check the box to allow Carousel to access your photo. The iPhone will pop you a warning that Carousel would like to access your photos. Tap on 'OK'. Yes, it is okay for Carousel to access my photos - I am the one who did this.
24
Now we need to put our email, then our password
.
I need to do that off-screen and then I will click Sign in. Give me one minute.
25
So I have now tapped Sign in
.
My Dropbox is home for my photos and videos.
26
Now I could swipe over and into the carousel application
.
What it does is it allows me to store photos from my iPhone and in my Dropbox so they are shared. Then, I can look at them from my desktop without needing to transfer sync or otherwise do anything. Dropbox and Carousel will work together in seamlessly handle all of that for me - which is fantastic.
27
As you can see, Carousel also keeps your photos safe by backing them up to your Dropbox
.
You have the option here to tick the checkbox - Backup or Do not back up. In this case, I am going to back them up.
28
When you are ready, tap the blue icon to take Carousel for a spin
.
29
I'm taking carousel for a spin
.
Now I got my Tbilisi, Georgia photos. Carousel automatically organizes everything by where, when, and how it was taken. Good, that is fine for me.
30
Carousel, as you can see here, is a great way to share photos
.
If I want to share, I just tap up the Share button to share. Great! Got it? Understood?
31
If you want to swipe, you can change things
.
You can go back, you can review and you can hide it. This is giving me a way to quickly cycle through photos. Now, what I am saying specifically is there is 2015 all the way up - and then down today. I can swipe up and down in this time wheel if for example I had 10 years of photos on iPhone which some of you may. Now, got it - no problem.
32
Now I can choose to learn more about Carousel, or I can swipe through and see my photos and stuff
.
Here are my timeline photos. I got a car with a coffee machine on the back - crazy.
33
I got some kid pictures. I got some more stuff, more kid pictures, Easter stuff, guitar that we are looking at, and my little awesome crazy baby doing some wild stuff.
34
Those are some of my basic photos that show up here
.
Here is the twins again.
35
Here is me, with my lovely-look face scar
.
36
Now, we can tap on Albums
.
I do not have Albums created yet, but I can create an Album. I will show you how to go through with all those things with another video.
37
Here is another one, this is the sharing who I have shared things with, who also have a set of videos on how to share your photos once set them up
.
38
You can tap on More at the bottom and you can see that you have a great deals about the things that you can do
.
You can add your own photos to yourself, you can have flashbacks, hidden photos, videos settings and help.
39
Some of you, probably, will be most interested in the hidden photos settings
.
These are photos that will appear where they are hidden so that they are safe but other people might not find them. I am not really want to go on what kind of hidden photos what you might want to have but you are creative enough to come up with your own ideas with that.
40
So we are going to have the option to restore or delete things that are in here
.
41
Hidden basically means that they are not on your timeline. There are other ways to use hidden file but if you delete something it moves to deleted option to the hidden area where you can recover them later. Then again, we will have more on that with bits and pieces as you go along.
42
So now, we are going to press the Home button one time
.
It is going to take us Home.
43
Now that we are home, we are going to double press the said button
.
44
We are going to swipe up to close Carousel
.
45
We are going to swipe up to close App Store
.
46
Now we are going to tap on the Home screen again
.
This bring us back to the Home screen.
47
Now you can do whatever you would like to do with your phone; which in my case, is to read these 2 unread text messages, which I am not going to show you
.
48
Let's see what is the next video and maybe we could see what is on those text messages
.
