Install a Telephoto Lens on Your iPhone 6
Edited by Grimm, Leomar Umpad, Eng, Maria Quinney
You are watching VisiHow and today we are going to show you how to unbox and get started with a telephoto lens tripod kit for your iPhone 6.
Steps
1
This is a custom made mobile phone telephoto lens that supports iPhone 6 and allows you to significantly expand your viewpoints
.
2
To start with, we are going to open this box let's put this beautiful tripod photo in the back
.
3
We have got a lens cleaner
.
It is very important to keep you cleaner in plastic because the telephoto lens is a sensitive piece of equipment. It is actually kind of large, too.
4
It gives you 12 times optical zone compare to what it had previously - as you can see here on this paper, 12x optical zoom
.
it is a full feature tripod, it works for Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, the HTC, the iPhone 5, Nokia 920, Sony Xperia Z, and 7110.
5
However, if you do not have the appropriate partner, you won't be able to use it as you can see here in the guide
.
There are different cases for the telephoto lens. For our purposes, I only purchased the iPhone 6 case because we are shooting these videos on an iPhone 6.
6
We have several pieces in this box
.
The first piece we have is the actual tripod stand. This is a heavy metal-stand little tripod. It sits down just like this - you simply open and close it.
7
If you need to adjust one of the legs because the ground is not exactly leveled, you just push the end out a little bit
.
8
There is a tension and there is a screw here in the base
.
It is a Phillips sense screw. For those of you who are not English, that is a cross-shaped screw. You tighten or loosen the screws to increase and decrease pressure on the legs.
9
We have the screw ON and screw OFF back plating cameras
.
10
Let's get it screwed off so I can show you better when it comes off
.
The plate is also a high quality brushed aluminum. It's got secure rubberize piece and there are grooves in it.
11
The plate screws on the main point - let's screw that in to keep it there
.
12
This area has a ball connection which allows you to use the backplate screw to tighten or loosen
.
13
If you loosen it up, the ball connector moves around meaning you can change the angle from which your phone is shooting
.
It is an extremely convenient feature.
14
Now, we have the most important part of our set which is the lens
.
As you can see, this is a fairly large lens. It is a professional optic lens, in a machine aluminum case, with black aluminum as well.
15
Pop the end cap off carefully
.
16
As you can see there is an actual real lens there - just like a little telescope
.
17
Let's close the cap back up until we are ready to use it
.
18
Always keep you lens covers on if you are not using in
.
19
Be careful, make sure you do not get fingerprint on it. Again you can see it is a full-spectrum, hard quality lens.
20
Now, we are going to take the interior packaging out of the box
.
21
Then inside, we have a little port case for our devices
.
It is a nice little cap case.
22
It's got a plastic soft interior so that it does not scratch the lens and it slides when you take this end piece case here.
23
The O-ring slides over the end (like this) and stops on this black ring
.
24
On that black ring, you simply tighten the screw to make sure that it maintains its secure position on the base and does not fall out
.
25
Now that the O-ring is secured in that little black ring
.
We have nothing to worry about in terms of it falling off.
26
Next thing that you will do is use our piece that we discussed earlier here you screw that into the side part
.
We put that in and then just twist. My twist is not working quite as well as it should I didn't have my weenies this morning. For those of you who are not old enough to know that joke, that is really sad. Weenies are delicious home brand breakfast that makes you feel good. Made a lot of money for basketball stars two decades ago.
27
Remember it's got rubberized base so you are not going to scratch anything. Now your camera lens are secured.
28
When you want to change the focus you twist just like a real camera how cool is that
.
29
Now, I have to loosen up the back spot a bit here, to turn this lens anywhere I want. Very soon, I will be recording my girlfriend.
30
This is an iPhone 6 back flip case and nothing else on our bag so let's put this box on the side.
31
Let's Keep our front lens cap for now
.
32
Now this is the interesting part that confuses a lot of people with this cases
.
The actual iPhone case has screw threads inside of it.
33
So you have to take the camera lens by the side, holding it firmly with your hand
.
As you can see, I am holding it.
34
Then you want to take the iPhone 6
.
To do this, you close the legs of this so that you do not bump into anything.
35
Let's put this on here so that it will line up perfectly and then you twist
.
You may have some pieces that may come off as you twist it - that's fine.
36
Twist it until it is snug
.
See the placement? Look. If I over twist it, it's going to fall off - I don't want it to fall off.
37
Now, suddenly when I look at this and say "Oh, how am I going to record like this is never going to work." If you are one of those guys, check this out
.
38
Loosen up this screw at the top of the funnel
.
I am now loosing this screw. Now I am taking the actual lens itself and I am turning it. How cool is that? Now I can suddenly shoot a properly positioned photo. I'll just tighten the lens' back.
39
I do need an iPhone 6 which I currently do not have on my hands to put in this mount
.
Give me a moment to have an iPhone 6 magically appear in my hand somewhere.
40
To insert your iPhone 6 into this wonderfully crazy strange device
.
You are going to simply take the phone, camera side up. You are going to put the camera on upper left part of the case. Note that this little lens is deep in so it is not actually touching your iPhone but you still want to be careful. Stick your iPhone to the case.
41
Using two hands, give it a press
.
One press. Two presses.
42
Now your iPhone is securely attached
.
To show you how this works, we are going to have another video and we might have another iPhone because that's how we do things here.
43
Also, as you just saw it fell over, you do want to note that the side of your phone is on should line up with the leg
.
44
If you have it like I just did, you are not paying attention or being cheesy to the camera, it will fall over
.
It will drop your phone and break the lens and the case. Neither one of those is something you want to see happen.
45
Make sure you are careful on you how to set it up and then your iPhone can be turned quickly and easily to a video surveillance camera
.
Let's pull this camera a bit here.
46
Take this lens cover off so you can see this fully functional Death Star, I mean, iPhone camera
.
47
There you are ladies and gentleman
.
This concludes our tutorial on how to unbox and set up your very own iPhone 6 mobile phone telephoto lens. Thanks for watching VisiHow we hope that this tutorial has been helpful. We look forward to bringing you more fun, exiting and entertaining videos. Stay tuned.
