Hi, you're watching VisiHow. Today I'm going to show you how to install Viber on your Android phone. It doesn't matter which type of Android phone, what manufacturer or what version of Android you're running because they all basically function the same.

   What you need to do is tap on the Google Play Store

   If you've removed the Google Play Store icon, tap on Apps.

   You'll be able to scroll through the apps menu until you find the Google Play option which is here, tap on that

   Tap on search and type Viber

   As you're typing, it will show up in the drop-down menu, tap on it.

   Here we have Viber

   This appears to be the official app. You'll notice there are some other applications in here as well, but you want to stick with the official app. Don't download other stuff because you never know who's going to be skimming your information, taking your passwords or anything else like that.

   Here we have Viber

   Free Messages and Calls from Viber Media. It has much better rating than Skype. Let's tap on install. Once we tap on install it's going to say Viber requires access to the following, but as you can see Viber basically requires access to nothing, whereas Skype requires access to a tremendous amount of personal information and details. If you're concerned about privacy Viber is the one to go with. Tap Accept.

   After you tap accept it will start downloading

   This is a slightly larger application than Skype, approximately 12MB larger. That's not really a significant amount, however, it does mean it will take a little bit longer to download. Viber has now finished installing and now we can simply tap on Open.

   Viber apparently has a different installation process so let's tap Install Viber.

   The install is blocked because my phone is set to block the installation of apps not obtained by the Play Store, so I need to go to Settings - Security - Unknown Sources

   Click Settings.

   We can also go to our home page, go to Settings and find Security with a lock icon

    Under Security, scroll down to Unknown Sources

    .

    You'll get a quick popup saying that installing from unknown sources may be harmful to your device and personal data. By tapping OK you're basically saying you know what you're doing or that you trusted my advice. I am only giving this advice for Viber. Let's go ahead and click OK for Viber. This is specific to one video, I'm going to uncheck it when I'm done downloading this app.

    Press the home button and go back to Viber and tap Install Viber again

    Now Viber is asking us for more permissions, let's go ahead and install. Give it a minute. Earlier I mentioned that Viber didn't have quite as many permissions as Skype did and now it would appear that it has the same amount.

    Now the app has been installed and my phone is warning me that this app is authorized to access messages

    In this case Viber is an app that does handle and manage messages, but we are going to just go ahead and double check with the Google Play store to make sure that we don't have a problem with Viber

    So we'll go back to Viber in the Google Play Store.

    This is, in fact, the legitimate Viber, so apparently they have an issue with the Google Play Store which, generally speaking, isn't going to concern us

    If we tap Viber again it will show the app has installed, go ahead and tap Open.

    Your phone number is your ID and your contacts are already added in, etc. You can just tap on Continue.

    It's going to ask you for your Country, your phone number and some other details, so just put that information in and you're set
