Install Second SIM card on Samsung Galaxy Duos
Edited by Grimm, Margiebell, Eng, Thom Nibbelin and 2 others
Hi you are watching VisiHow and today we are going to show you how to put in a second SIM card in your Samsung Galaxy S5 or S5 Mini Duos phone. To start with, we're going to need to go to the back of the phone.
Steps
1
We're going to just pop our fingers in here
.
2
That's going to open up our phone.
3
Which will give us access to the back
.
We're going to put our finger under here.
4
Just take that battery out, nice and easy
.
Now we've got our phone. Here we have SIM 1 and we're going to put in SIM 2. All we are going to need to do is take our SIM card our SIM card salespeople kindly taped for us.
5
Save the tape, because the Galaxy also has a Mini SIM
.
We're going to need to pop this little SIM card guy out of here.
6
7
Now we're going to take this piece here, because you never know, you may change your phone, you may have a phone problem
.
Actually, let's tape it to the other side of the card.
8
That way, we can tuck this away in a safe place
.
With our PIN 1 and PIN2, our PUK codes. And now we've got our SIM card. We are just going to slide that SIM card right in here.
9
It should slide in nice and easy
.
Make sure they are both in there, nice and good.
10
Take your battery, make sure your memory card is still in place, put the battery back in
.
11
Make sure everything is nice and seated.
12
Notice, I am not really applying any pressure for this, it's just nice and simple, easy gestures
.
See, I am just easily popping that all back together.
13
Making sure my water proofing still stays on the phone
.
We are going to press and hold the power button.
14
And get the phone to turn on
.
There we go.
15
Now, while, the phone starts up, your SIM card
.
All SIM cards have the PIN 1 and PIN 2.
16
Many times, to get the phone started, you are going to need your PIN 1 and PIN 2
.
OK, the phone started up.
17
Anyways, we now have two SIM cards
.
As you can see, there are two separate signals there.
18
However, one of them is grayed out
.
That is because we need to make some adjustments. Slide the screen to open it.
19
Check our battery cover message
.
Yes, we know about that.
20
OK so now we have both of our SIM cards
.
We can just swipe down on our notifications panel.
21
And it will let us see either of our SIM cards. It appears that I've got a message here. Facebook is downloading some goodies as well which is nice of Facebook. Anyways, which ever SIM you have, you can simply use that SIM and then click on messages, for example.
22
And we've got some messages here
.
We can go back, and scroll down, and switch to SIM 1.
23
And now you see 1 is highlighted here
.
24
So this lets you know which of your SIM cards you have, which SIM card you are using
.
And it will make it much easier for you when you are trying to manage two phone numbers. Depending on what you are doing with two phone numbers, it can keep you out of trouble too. You may inadvertently answer a work call on a personal number, or a personal call with work stuff, and you want to try and avoid that. Thanks for using VisiHow, we've just shown you how to get your second SIM card installed on your phone. We did not end up needing the PIN and PUK codes, but sometimes you may need them, so it's always good to have them, just in case. Again, thanks a lot, have a great day, and I will see you in our next video.

Questions and Answers
If I add a second SIM to my Samsung mobile, Is my new number displayed to others on WhatsApp registered with first SIM?
Is my new number displayed to others on WhatsApp registered with first SIM?
The new (second-SIM) number will not be displayed in your WhatsApp.
If you wish to show or use it, you will need to reinstall WhatsApp (or clear its cache and data) and register it to your new number, losing all of the active conversations. Your friends will need to add your new number to see you in WhatsApp in that case.
