Hi, welcome to VisiHow! In this article, we are going to teach you how to download and install the Rosetta Stone language application for your Android Smartphone.

Steps to Downloading Rosetta Stone
- 1The lock key is on the side.For this demonstration, we are using a Samsung Galaxy S5 mini Duos.
- 2As it is with all Samsung Galaxy S5 models, just tap that one time.
- 3Scroll down through your pattern.
- 4Locate the Google Play Store icon.Swipe whatever pattern you've set for your locked screen.
- 5If you don't find it here, or if you've deleted it or moved it, and it's not on any of your other screens, go ahead and tap the apps button.This is a white briefcase with a triangle shape, unless you've changed your settings significantly.
- 6Inside of your applications folder, your going to find the icon for the Google play store.One tap on the apps button is going to bring up your applications folder.
- 7(white briefcase with a triangle shape). When you find it, give it one tap.You may have to scroll through a couple windows to find it, but it is there and you can find it.
- 8To get what we are looking for, tap on the search button here.We're going to open it up.
- 9We're going to look for "Rosetta Stone".
- 10There we are."Learn Languages" is Rosetta Stone.
- 11What you'll want to do is tap on the download button and let it download and install. Once it's downloaded and installed you can simply tap the open button here.As you can see here, I've already downloaded the "Rosetta Stone" application.
- 12For our purposes, we're going to tap here on the open button.Alternatively, you should have an icon on your home screen or in your apps folder that you can also tap.
- 13It's the first time we're opening the application. We're going to do a quick switch to landscape mode for you.This is going to open up "Rosetta Stone".
- 14For our purposes, we're going to create a quick demo account by tapping create demo account.
- 15Personally, I'm quite fond of the Rosetta Stone application, I've used it around the world, on a number of occasions, and I've never found it to be problematic, it doesn't necessarily always do what I want, but it does do a good job. So I am going to put in the password. Now it's all set up and ready to go.We're going to put in a first name, you should put your own information here, but honestly, you can put in whatever you want.
- 16Now we're going to go over here and tap one time on "sign up".
- 17If you are in another country, you should select your own country.I've already selected my country, the United States.
- 18In most cases, you'll go with adult male or adult female, depending on your gender. Younger people will want to go with the child's voice. There are also some individuals that have higher or lower voices, and Rosetta Stone is a premium language learning application, so it does actually matter which of these you choose.Now we're going to look for the voice type that best describes your voice.
- 19A quick tap there on the "adult male".So in my case I'm going to choose adult male.
- 20And then I'm going to tap on "done".
- 21It does let me choose a language to explore for free.Now it's going to take a minute to load in some stuff.
- 22You can choose from a range of languages, French, Greek, Hebrew, Irish, Korean, Persian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, etc.
- 23I'm going to go ahead and choose "Russian".
- 24So to start us off, you can see my login is here.
- 25It's a simple basic lesson with some speech, some shapes, and it's going to add and build on my skills.I've chosen Russian, and I'm on Unit 1, Unit 1 is a core lesson, it takes about 30 minutes.
- 26I can always tap on the setting button, here is change language, switch learners, settings and log out.
- 27I can also tap on setting to go to more advanced settings.
- 28Speech recognition is turned on, speech precision is turned on, this is something that works on your pronunciation.
- 29If you set the speech pronunciation tool to very difficult, you're not going to have a very rewarding experience so I recommend setting it to normal to below normal as it is here.It is important to pay attention to speech precision because there are certain words that sound very different when spoken by a native English speaker versus the native speaker of that language, such as Russian.
- 30Voice Type will also allow you to change your voice type.
- 31You can learn letters, characters, and sounds, and you can disable sounds for correct and incorrect answers if you prefer.In terms of the course itself, you can focus the learning on reading, writing and speaking.
- 32Don't worry, you will still get a visual indication that you've successfully done something.If you get tired of hearing the noises, you can disable this.
- 33I've chosen reading, writing, speaking and listening because that's important to me. It not important for me to do the extended perspective, because really, all I need to do is get around in a taxi, and make sure I order the hamburger that I like.As far as your learning focus is concerned, you can simply tap on that and you can choose which one you really feel you need to work the most.
- 34Now lets go back, I'm tapping on settings.
- 35Now we are going to hit "done" since we are finished here.
- 36Now you can start your core lesson by simply pressing "play".
- 37This audio setup is a fairly quick process, so its not time consuming. You can skip it, but I don't recommend it.Now its going to ask us for some audio setup.
- 38If you recall, there was a video made on how to get your headphones all set up, and if you would like, you can simply click the link in this video and you can watch our article on how to get your headphones set up. Now our headphones are plugged in. Before you put the headphones in your ears, tap the setup button and carefully listen and hear how loud that test sound is.Lets make sure everything works, and you have your headphones plugged in and your microphone plugged in.
- 39Press "continue".
- 40Okay, I am ready for my lesson.
- 41You'll go through this core lesson, and I recommend repeating it a couple times, and when you're done with that free lesson, if you feel that it warrants purchasing the program, its very easy to purchase. Then you can continue learning the language. You can also learn any number of other languages that will come in very handy if you're planning a trip to Spain or Japan, or elsewhere. There's nothing wrong with brushing up on your languages a week or so before your vacation, and learning just some of the basics that will get you by.We have our language lessons set up and it's easy to learn with "Rosetta Stone".

Did you purchase the download? Install the app? I will give you some solutions based on different scenarios:
- 1They provide a chat help function to help you troubleshoot.Rosetta Stone has a Mobile App/Customer Support website.
- 2Make sure that you are signed into the app and then sync your online account with the app so that any lessons you have done previously are also on your tablet.
- 3Make sure you activated the Rosetta Stone properly on the PC or whatever device you purchased it for.
- 4If you purchased the CD/DVD box set, then there is a code on the box flap for installing the app.

- 6Go to Application Installation instructions on their website to see if you are missing a step or process.

Trying to use Rosetta Stone's Language app, but after installing, it gets stuck on "Loading your course"?
Tried to install on Moto G4 plus and got through to choosing install choose language. Chose Spanish (Spain), but then it just sits at "Loading your course" with the progress bar at 75%. It gets stuck between steps 23 and 24. I suspect the app has a bug that is triggered by my particular configuration of phone. I have tried: Uninstall and reinstall. Gets stuck at same place. Have changed screen timeout to 30 minutes to check that sleep isn't interfering with loading of course. I think it was caused by: App incompatible with my phone and Android operating system (6.0.1).
