Edited by Lukward Thomason, Jen M, Eng, Inukshuk
You are watching VisiHow and this is a tutorial on how to install applications from unknown sources. First thing, what you need to do is unlock the screen. In this case, we are using Huawei G700 and to unlock the screen, you have to press this button here.
Steps
1
Now you have to swipe down to unlock it
.
2
You have probably downloaded an application or the APK file - the installer package of the application that you are going to install, but the system will not let you
.
So, what we need to do is open any file explorers. For this tutorial, we will be using ES File Explorer.
3
Now go to the section where you have downloaded the APK file
.
In this case, I have it right here. We are going to install the Mozilla Firefox application. It is a browser.
4
5
6
The system will show us that for security, your phone is set to block installation of apps obtained from an unknown source
.
7
We are going to change this
.
We want to have the ability to install any application we have downloaded the APK file for. You have two options, you can click settings right here
8
or you can go the long way
.
For the sake of the tutorial, I am going to show you the long way so we press cancel here.
9
Now we need to access the settings menu
.
To access it quickly, we should swipe down.
10
Now press the gear button here
11
and press the button on the left that has appeared just now
.
12
Now that we are in the settings menu, you will need to find the security
.
For this, you might need to scroll down.
13
Press the security and the new menu will pop up
.
14
In this menu, you can see unknown sources and it is unticked
.
15
You have to just tick this and there is going to be a warning
.
16
Just read it carefully and press OK
.
17
After this is done, you can now install any application you desire
.
Just go back to the location of the application
18
19
20
All the applications that you have installed or you are willing to will need to gain access to some parts of the operating system or other applications
.
For example, Firefox needs privacy and device access.
21
You can read through them if you need to and after that, you click install
22
and just wait for it to be installed
.
23
Now that it is installed, you can either press done
24
25
We are going to press done
.
26
Now that the application is installed already, you can access it from your home screen
.
To access the home screen, press the middle button on the lower part of the screen.
27
Now you can see that there is a newly installed application here
.
28
Just click on it and the application will launch
.
29
This concludes our tutorial on how to install applications from unknown sources
.
