Insert Memory Card for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
Edited by Train Wreck, Eng, VisiHow
Anyone who has ever purchased a new microSD card for their phone or Tablet knows how difficult it can sometimes be to figure out how to put it in. To help you with that we are going to show you how to insert a microSD card into your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. The process itself is relatively simple. The only things you will need are a microSD card, as SIM card removal tool or a paperclip, and your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. In the photo below we have all three of these items in the same picture.
Prepare the microSD Card
1
The first thing you need to do is to prepare your microSD card
.
This is done by taking the microSD card and sliding it out of its card adapter.
2
You can insert your thumbnail or another object into the raised ridge and then slide out as shown in the photo below.
3
When you are finished you will have a teeny tiny little microSD card
.
That little tiny microSD card is about the size of an average person's fingernail or thumbnail. If you have something larger than this, you have the wrong size microSD card.
4
You are now ready to remove the SD card tray from your Galaxy Tab S2.
Remove the SD card Tray from the Galaxy Tab
1
The next thing we will do is locate our SIM card removal tool
.
The factory SIM card removal tool from Samsung looks a little bit like a teardrop with a needle on the end.
2
When you have located the SIM card removal tool, you will need to pick up your Samsung Galaxy Tab and look on the same side that the volume buttons and the power button are located.
3
Looking down the tablet, you will see three small holes
.
The hole you are interested in is the middle one which is being pointed at in the photo below.
4
Place the SIM card removal tool into the hole that was shown in the step above.
5
Then place the tablet on a flat surface and place one hand on the tablet to keep it from sliding around.
6
Then, carefully push in with the SIM card removal tool until the microSD card tray slides out a little.
7
When the microSD cards tray slides out, use the SIM card removal tool, holding it on an angle and moving from one side to the other of the SIM card tray
.
Carefully slide the SIM card tray out. Note that you may also use your fingers.
Insert the Memory Card
1
Once the microSD card has been removed, turn the microSD card tray over, and then place your microSD card into it
.
This is done so the glass screen of the tablet will be facing you when you flip it back over, and you will be able to quickly and easily slide in the microSD card.
2
Now simply pick up the microSD card tray and slide it back into the slot
.
Remember to push firmly until it snaps in place.
Set Up Your System
1
Once the SD card has been inserted you will receive a pop-up menu indicating that an SD card has been inserted
.
From here you may tap 'Okay' or 'Go to my files' at your option.
2
Note that we strongly recommend mounting the SD card, unless the system automatically mounts it
.
This can be done by following our tutorial on how to mount an SD card for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
