Images help to make our articles far more interesting and helpful to people. They help other people to learn and they clarify what you have to say. Images can also be used in your User pages or Talk pages. If you follow the simple rules that are found below, your images won't be deleted from VisiHow.

The text that you will find on VisiHow is created under the Creative Commons Attribution License. That means that sites can republish our text and it can be used for non-commercial endeavors. Our mission is to help people to learn things with the free information that we provide.

Images which are owned by VisiHow are able to be used and may be modified or distributed. Some images are not available to be reused and may belong to a third party. These images are clearly marked with a license.

When you upload an image to VisiHow, you will see a selection of image licenses which are available. Those image licenses must be used in order to ensure that all images fall under reasonable licensure. If your image does not use an image license, or you do not know what the license is, it is not reasonable to upload it to VisiHow. If you want to add your own images, you are able to do so, as long as you are willing to allow their use via the CC attribution or another acceptable image license. If the images which you upload are found under free licenses or public domain they are permitted on VisiHow.

Most images are not freely licensed and most images online are not allowed to be used on VisiHow. Those images are the ones which have a specific license. You can use images on VisiHow which are:

  • Public domain images
  • NOAA, NASA, USGS,USPS
  • Public Domain Photos
  • Creative Commons Attribution Images
  • Your Own Images..
  • Images from third party sites which are properly attributed and which allow their use.

You May NOT use images which are:

  • The property of another website or person.
  • Were photographed by another person UNLESS you have written permission to use them and that image is allowed to be shared on VisiHow.
  • Images which are to be found in public domain sites that allow free use.

Images which contain an incorrect license or no license or images which are found to have come from another website and which specifically do not offer attribution from the photographer will be slated for immediate deletion from the VisiHow website.
