Recover Android Device in case of Forgot password/pattern unlock an Android device

I'm part where I hold the home button down and it's telling me I have to complete setup to continue?

I'm on the part of the bypass the Google app by holding the home button down but it's tell me how to complete setup to continue what do I do. I have followed all directions on how to reset and bypass a Google account with an LG Stylo 4 I'm on the part the step where it says tap the home button and hold it down but the phone is not allowing me to do that it's telling me to complete setup to continue what do I do. I have tried: Just tapping the home button and it's telling me to complete set up to continue. I don't know what I'm doing so I would appreciate your help. Please and thank you very much. I think it was caused by: I'm not sure my phone was locked and it will not open now
