I've held down the home icon and nothing and complete set up to continue appears at the bottom of the screen. I've held down the home icon to access the Google icons but nothing is happening

Trying to bypass old Google account on Sylo 2 phone?

I tried to bypass Google setup on my Stylo 2. I got to the part with the overlay screen but when I hold down home, it says I have to complete setup first. I found this phone in my parking lot and took it to Sprint to find the owner. They looked up the owner and said that it must have been thrown away because it had no SIM card, the account was closed and the battery has water damaged.Sprint actually told me the person's name but she does not live at my apartments. I was told I could use it as a tablet if I reset it. Not sure what to do next. Is there anyway to reset the Google account without the person's email and password? Holding down the Home button doesn't do anything except say that I need to finish setup first. I can't finish set up without email and password.

I did all the instructions correctly and then when I clicked on the little man the circle and I held the home screen down or I tapped on it six times it did nothing.
