What do I do if the setting screen doesn't show up?

I did all steps until number six which confused me. A setting screen never showed up. The step mentions a setting screen that appears after you enable the swiftkey keyboard. That never happened. I have tried: I have tried factory resetting my phone with the up volume button and power button and that didn't work. I think it was caused by: I can't think of anything. I'm not an expert. I simply want to fix my phone.
