Politely Decline a Letter of Request Formally

Questions and Answers

My question I need to write this letter in polite way?

Your request for a raise has been denied. Did you seriously think that I would reward you after your recent performance-or lack thereof? I know it's been a while since your last review, so let me list off some of your low lights… We haven't received any project updates from you at all this month. You're supposed to post those to the project site once a week. Is that too much to ask? Furthermore, I know it takes women a long time to get their "faces on," but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect you to show up to work on time. The swipe clock shows that you've staggered in five to ten minutes late at least FIVE TIMES in the last three weeks!!! This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable. Lastly, Darren caught you using the company photocopier for personal business (I've CCed you so you'd know I followed up, D-Man). I'm pretty sure Kinko's can help you print flyers of equal quality for your Single Mothers' Book Club. The employees there can support my statement that TONER ISN'T FREE.. . So, I'm thinking that signs of improvement would be a neat thing for me to see. It's only four months until your next performance review, and-as you should be well aware-that's when I consider wage increases. Just because you're a divorceée with a couple of mouths to feed doesn't mean we readjust the schedule. The proof is in the pudding, Molly, so shape up if you want to see a few more dollars added to your paycheque.
