How do I clear what l have typed before from being remembered by my phone?
The functionality you're referring to is called a predictive keyboard. This technology allows your keyboard to learn how you talk so it may predict what you will say next. You can also teach it words that you say most often so you don't have to keep typing them. Fortunately, there are a couple of ways you can delete the typing history on your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. If you have only a few words you want to delete, do the following:
- Type the first few letters of the word you want to delete.
- When the word you want to delete pops up, tap and hold it.
- Your phone will now give you the option to delete the word.
- Tap Delete.
The individual word will now be gone. However, if you want to clear your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini entire typing history, follow the instructions below:
- Open your Settings application.
- Navigate to Language and Input.
- Tap the Gear icon next to the Samsung Keyboard option.
- Tap Predictive text.
- Scroll down and tap Clear personal data.
This will clear your entire typing history on your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
If you don't like this functionality at all, you can easily turn it off, too. Follow the simple guide below to learn how to turn your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini predictive keyboard off:
- Open your Settings application.
- Navigate to Language and Input.
- Tap the Gear icon next to the Samsung Keyboard option.
- Turn Predictive text off.
Your keyboard will now stop predicting the next word you want to type. To turn it back on, simply follow the guide again and your keyboard will begin predicting your words again.
