Use Uber Safely Step by Step

I would like to thank Alex Castro for this awesome video on How To Use Uber as a Passenger and Driver. I have organized it into a wiki for anyone with a hearing impairment, or for those who just prefer to read the steps. Hope you enjoy
This video is a pretty requested one, and it's pretty much just going to be how an Uber ride works from beginning to end - from a driver's point of view and from a passenger's point of view. Also, while I'm at it, I'm going to explain how to continue a ride or proceed with a ride when your passenger has not input a destination. All of that will be covered in this video. Okay, let's go ahead and start.
Okay, so, I'm leaving my girlfriend, I'm stranding her here at Sonic and I'm going to drive away like a block or something over there and have her request me.
Girlfriend: You're going to come fast right? So when do I call you? Alex: I'm going to go ahead and text you, like "Go ahead and call me."
Okay, so this is what you're going to do. You're going to go online on the Uber app.
Okay, so you're going to go online and it's going to show you where you're at, and I'm waiting. I'm waiting for a beep. I'm now going to text Bonnie to tell her I'm ready for her to request me.
Bonnie is now going to open the Uber app on her phone, set her pickup location, and request uberX.
There it goes. See, and then it's going to... this is like the timer that's going to start going counterclockwise. You tap to accept.
And then, I'm going to go pick her up.
You can click the "Navigate" button here if you want to navigate. It's kind of weird because I know that she's at the right side, but it's telling me to take a left, which is stupid. A lot of people are complaining about the navigation system. Just Uber in general is pretty stupid sometimes.
I'm going down a one-way and there's a guy coming. And another car coming. I'm dumb. Okay, now I'm going to show you what it looks like when she gets in here.
Okay, you click "Arrived."
Yes, I am sure that I'm there because it's telling me it's somewhere else.
You're going to slide the "Begin trip."
So, in this case, my passenger did not input a drop off location.
So we're going to slide the "Begin" anyway.
And that's all you do. And I'll take her wherever she wants to go, and then when she gets there, I'll slide the drop off.
She is going to get out her phone too, so we can show what it looks like when we end the fare. Okay, so, I'm going to say this is where we're going to go ahead and end, and then of course, as the driver, you are going to slide to end trip.
Okay, you're going to rate your passenger. She was a cutie. Five.
And then, see, that's what she sees on her phone. The trip was $5.
There's my picture. Now she's going to rate me and add an optional comment.
Thanks! And then that's it! You go back online, and you start getting your next one.
That's pretty much all there is to it. It's really simple. And we are done.
One thing I forgot to mention in this video is that if your passenger does not pre-input their destination, you have two options. Either one, you can, like in this picture here, it says, "Enter dropoff location." You could click on that box and type in the address in there, and then it will start navigating you. Or you could use a third party navigation app. I highly recommend Google Maps. Open up a Google Maps and type the address into there and start navigating that way. So those are your two options, if they did not pre-input a destination. And of course, if they did pre-input a destination, it would, instead of saying "Enter dropoff location," it will just say the location and you would just instantly start navigating to it, which is really nice. But not a lot of them do that.
So yeah, that is one of my most requested videos, just from beginning to end, a walk-through of how to accept an Uber ride and how it goes down and what to do at the end. You know, that's it. That is everything right in front of you, from beginning to end, just in case there are some new drivers that are curious, that want to see how it works before they actually start driving.
