Questions and Answers

Sony ES Remote app - (iOS) now says that the app is outdated and will no longer work unless the developer updates it. Will Sony be updating it?

This app is no longer compatible with the current version of Apple iOS. Is Sony ever going to update it or are the people that depend on the app to control their systems out of luck now?.. I use the app in a room that is connected as a 2nd Zone. The app opens now, but no longer will connect to the receiver. (ES 2800). I tried both apps mentioned in the article, and both will not connect anymore. I'm hoping that someone on the message board would have an update from Sony on how they will make this right. I have tried: Downloading and attempting to run both apps. Both download and open, but neither will connect. I think it was caused by: Sony did not keep up with the iOS updates. I would think that all ES users are having this problem - I'm surprised that Sony isn't addressing it.

Receiver doesn't show up on iPhone under connection?

Hi. I am using a Sony 1080 receiver with a (latest) new iPhone XS Max. when I go to "connection" in the ES app, it does not find the AV receiver. it spins and then defaults to "Demo Receiver." any help appreciated, Robbie. Your article does not explain why my iPhone is not finding the receiver even though we are on the same network. I have tried: Followed your directions until step 11. the app does not find the receiver. I think it was caused by: I have no idea why it will not find the receiver. I followed your detailed instructions explicitly
