Hello, welcome to VisiHow. In this tutorial, we're going to learn how to set time limits for children in the Kid Mode application on HTC One M8.
To begin, press the power button located on the top of the phone. Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards. Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see multiple icons.
Swipe the notification panel down from the top of the screen. Now we can see that the notification panel has appeared.
Tap on the white gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen to open the settings menu, indicated by the word "Settings" in the top-left corner of the screen.
Scroll down to the section titled "Personal", and tap on "Security" indicated by an icon of a padlock. This will open the security menu.
Tap on "Kid Mode", which is the second option from the top.
Tap on "Parent Dashboard", which is the first option.
Now that we're in the dashboard, we'll scroll down and tap on "Time Limits" which is indicated by a clock icon.
Now we will tap on the first option, "Monday-Friday". What we can do in this section is set time limits to limit the amount of time our child has access to this application. There are two different sections, "Monday-Friday", and "Saturday-Sunday", allowing us to set different time limits. This is because during the week children often have school and are busy with homework, but on the weekend they are free and have more personal time and we may want to allow them to have more time to use this application.
Choose a specific time limit to set by tapping on it once. In this example, it is set to "Unlimited", and we can see that because of the blue circle on the right. We will change it to "1 hour". The options range from 0 minutes to four hours, and also include unlimited.
Tap on "Saturday-Sunday".
Choose a specific time limit to set by tapping on it once. In this example, we'll choose "2 hours" because it's the weekend and they have more free time and we can give them a reward for doing so well during the week in school. The blue circle will indicate the selected time.
We can edit these at any time to change the time limit. This concludes our tutorial on how to set time limits for children in the Kid Mode application on HTC One M8.
