Hide a User on the Windows 8 Lock Screen

Steps

First, open the Run window

Press and hold the Windows key on the keyboard and then press the "R" key.

This refers to the Registry Editor.

Click "OK" or hit the enter or return key

In the Registry Editor, double-click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"

Double-click "Microsoft"

Scroll down to find "Windows NT" and double-click it

Double-click "CurrentVersion"

Scroll down to find "Winlogon" and click it

Right-click on "Winlogon" and hover over "New"

Type in the name "SpecialAccounts" and hit the enter key to finalize

Right-click "SpecialAccounts" and hover over "New"

Type in the name "UserList" and hit the enter key to finalize

Right-click on "UserList" and hover over "New"

Click "DWORD (32-bit) Value"

Type in the name of the user that will be hidden from the lock screen

For example, "User 1", or "John" or "VisiHow", and so on. For this demonstration, we will hide "Guest".

Press the enter key to finalize

Now the Guest user won't be visible.
