Hide Recent Activity from a YouTube Channel Home Page
Edited by Djinu, VisiHow, Dougie
You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to hide your recent activity from a YouTube channel home page. The default setting is to show your recent videos that you liked in an activity feed on the home page. This may not be beneficial because you may be signed into your account and pressing "Like" for random videos that are unrelated to your channel. The particular channel I am using is a travel-related channel, but there are some videos appearing in my feed that have nothing to do with travel.
Click the top-right corner icon. It is a circle with your profile photo thumbnail.
When you've accessed your profile, click "Creator Studio".
From "Creator Studio", click "VIEW CHANNEL". When you are on the channel, above the "Subscribe" button, you will see an edit icon that has a pencil on it.
Click the edit icon. A drop-down menu will appear.
Click "Edit channel navigation".
Uncheck the "Like a video or save a playlist" box. This is the action that adds all of the random videos to your home screen news feed.
On this page, you should also enable "Browse" by clicking the "Enable" button at the top of the page. Enabling "Browse" will allow users to browse your channel when they land on your page.
When you have finished, scroll down to the bottom of this window and click "Save". Then, you will be taken back to your page.
You can view what returning subscribers will see by clicking "For returning subscribers" and scrolling through your news feed. You have recently watched videos as well as popular videos.
You can add another section by clicking "Add a section" at the bottom of the news feed.
Then, click the drop-down menus to choose the information you want shown in your feed. You can choose videos, playlists, channels, and so on.
Click "For new visitors" at the top of the news feed. The default option is not to show any information, but you may want to show your popular uploads.
Click the edit icon at the top-right corner of your news feed.
Then, make sure that "Popular uploads" is selected from the drop-down menu and click "Done".
Then, you can click "Cancel" at the bottom to finish your activity.
When you reload your page for new users, you will see that it loads with the popular uploads included. If you are signed in, it will show you what to watch next.
