Steps

  1. 1
To get started, open the date and time preferences panel
    .
There are two ways to do this. The first and easiest way is simply to click on the date or time located in the bar along the top of the screen.

Scroll down and click "Open Date & Time Preferences..."
    .
However, once we've hidden the date and time, we will not be able to access the "Date & Time" menu the same way. For this tutorial, we will close this menu and demonstrate the other way to access it, which is directly through the system preferences panel.

In our demonstration, we will remove the checkmark from the box. Unchecking it will remove the date and time from the menu bar that runs along the top of the screen. Now there is no way for us to click on the date and time any longer, as the field has been removed from the menu bar.
