  1. 1
The less it tastes like oresol, the better
    .
There are ways to make oresols taste good, and make it appealing to children. The best idea is to introduce fruity flavors to the solution, depending on your child's preference. It might be orange or strawberry or other fruity flavors, anything that works in winning over the child to oresol. Use real fruits like crushed pineapple, crushed mango, or watermelon, which are pulverized in the electric blender and mixed into the oresol over artificial flavorings.

Don't tell your child it's oresol
    .
Depending on your child, you don't have to say it's oresol. Just the name might invoke memories of other times they were ill, and they may resist it. Perhaps you can make up your own name for it.

Make it into a delightful treat
    .
If your child likes popsicles, you can pour the oresol into popsicle molds and freeze it. If your child loves juice, mix the oresol with juice. Also consider adding oresol to chocolate milk - basically, whatever will get your child drinking it, to keep them hydrated when they are ill.

    Use a reward system
    .
Reward your child with longer TV time if they drink their oresol, or make a deal that you'll visit the nearest toy store when he gets well. That way, your child will be determined to drink the medication and look forward to getting well soon.

  6. 6
    Build up your child's confidence
    .
Tell your child that you believe that he is big enough to drink the oresol without any sweets or rewards. Talk to him the same way you'd talk to an older child. Some children want to take charge, and this may be what your child needs to get him/her to drink that oresol.

Let your child realize the things he/she will miss while he or she is sick
    .
Tell him/her how his or her friends are playing outside and how you want him/her to play with his/her friends as soon as he/she gets well. Or how close is the vacation and he or she may not be able to come along if he or she remains sick. That will convince your child to take the oresol and get well.
