Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how you can use voice commands to get directions on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone

   To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down until the two padlock icons appear at the bottom

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen, which has several icons listed across the bottom

   In this video, we will demonstrate how to use voice commands to get directions. Before doing that, it is important to note that in order to be able to use these voice commands from anywhere, any position on the phone, or any screen, then that setting will need to be changed in the Settings menu. There is a video tutorial that shows specifically how to do that on this website, so search for that if needed. The reasons for this are the default setting on the HTC One M8 is that the voice commands can only be used in the voice search application. That obviously takes a bit more time, and it's just not as convenient. It is a lot easier to use this function from anywhere or any screen. This makes it more flexible and more efficient. Then we will be able to say the magic words, which in this demonstration are Okay, Google. Once these have been said, we can then ask for directions. At that point, the application will find directions for us from our current position using the GPS that is activated on the phone. This will only work if the GPS on the phone is activated.

   Once the microphone icon at the top right corner of the screen stops being blue and goes back to white, that means that the voice activation function has stopped
