Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to reformat your SD card or microSD card when using your GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition.

   The first thing we are going to do is take a burst set of photos to put something on the SD card

   When you take the burst you can see the red light flashing repeatedly.

   Now we want to reformat the SD card

   The reason we are going to do this is because it's very much recommended. Go to settings by pressing the mode button.

   Press select with the shutter button

   Scroll through with the mode button until we find the bin; this is the delete function

   Select the bin using the shutter button.

   Now we are in the delete menu

   .

   The first option we have is to delete the last video, photo, or last thing you have done on the camera. It is important to remember to be careful, for example if you have taken a burst set of photos, if you select delete last photo it will delete the whole burst photo not just the last photo from that burst.

   We are going to go down to All/Format using the mode button

   .

   It is very much recommended to format your camera and SD card on a regular basis. This is because reformatting the SD card returns it to the original file system allowing it to properly communicate with the camera for future use.

   It will ask if you want to delete all, scroll down using the mode button and select yes

   When you see the image of the bin again it means the SD card has been reformatted successfully

   Click the mode button, then select exit by clicking the shutter button to return to camera mode
