Forgot lock screen pin for my old GS3?

I am trying to access some information on my old GS3, but I can't remember my lock screen pin to save my life! I tried to go the Google.com/Android/devicemanager route, but since my phone is not activated on Verizon anymore, I can't use it. Is there any way to get around this and get back into my old phone?! HELP!!

You are trying the wrong Google program. You need Google Accounts Recovery if you are not using the same Google Account right now with a newer phone. Otherwise, you will have to hard reset. It is an older phone, so hopefully, you will not lose data you want when you hard reset.

My encryption password is not being recognized?

I have just set up encryption and waited for it to encrypt the phone. However, when it rebooted, it doesn't recognize my password.

I'm happy to Factory Reset it but my home key is broken, so I can't even get to the boot menu! I'm using a Galaxy S2.

Once the phone reboots the first time, this is when the Encryption process starts. It can take over one hour. Since your Home button is broken, you can hard reset using the ADB tools method. The Encryption is irreversible unless you factory reset the device.
