Force Flash on T4i

You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show how to force the flash mode using the Canon T4i or 650D camera.
Steps
1
First, we turn on the camera by toggling the power switch
.
The quickest way to force the flash is to go to the "Creative Auto" function.

We rotate the mode dial to select "CA"

It has the icon of a rectangle.

We tap on the "Q" button on the screen or press the quick control button to edit settings

Now, we tap on the flash setting twice

It has an icon with a lightning.

We can tap the icon with the letter "A"

This will set the flash to "Auto flash".

We can tap on the lightning icon

This will set the flash to "Flash on".

We can tap on the crossed lightning

This will set the flash to "Flash off".

Let's tap on "Flash on" for this tutorial

We half-press the shutter-release button
.
It will focus on an object and open the flash device.

We full-press the shutter-release button

This will activate the flash as a photo is taken.

We close the flash device manually

The other way of forcing the flash is to set the mode dial to "M"
.
This will choose the manual mode. It is important to note that the manual mode requires our setting all of the photography options, including the ISO setting, shutter speed, f-stop, etc.

To activate the flash in manual mode, we press the flash button on the frontal side of the camera

Once you do that, the flash will be activated.

We can half-press the shutter-release button to focus on an object

Then, we full-press the shutter-release button to take a photo

The flash will be activated.
