I am currently in DFU mode. How do I get past error 3014?

My device is an iPad 2 model# A1395. I'm running iOS 7.1.1. Windows 7, 64bit. I recently tried a Pangu jailbreak (the first one), which was working fine, except I had problems with the Cydia file. When I tried to upgrade to iOS 7.1.2, I became stuck in recovery mode. I have edited my host file, but I should note that the apple lines in the host file were not present. In fact no reference to the apple server were in that file. However, using Windows website, I restored the host file to the original. Still no luck. I have tried the DFU mode, still no luck. Please help!

My iPhone 4S has been on its last leg since March.

I was hoping it would last until the next iPhone came out, because I didn't want the iPhone 5. I always wait till my current one crashes. I finally got my iPhone 6 and just activated it today.

Bottom line, my 4S is still a mess because I cannot restore the phone. I wanted my 6 years to use it for educational apps.
