   The Kinect has issues regarding picking up voice commands or other forms of audio during play. Maybe the sensor can't hear you or the problem has to do with too much background noise in the area. Whenever a problem arises, the Xbox will show you an error pop up message. From there you can click details to get more information on the issue. There are many ways to solve this issue, but the most effective way is by using the calibration option that will be made accessible to you in the Kinect options located on the dashboard screen under the tab settings. This will allow you to tune your Xbox according to your audio needs. Try increasing the volume, try readjusting the mic - louder or lower - whichever gives you a better gaming experience.

   Memory

   Many have encountered the problem not having enough memory to run Kinect. This was usually the result of purchasing Kinect as an add-on (purchased separately). Kinect will require at least 190MB to run successfully on the console, so if you don't have that much space, then you need to either free up some space or purchase an external hard drive. To free up space on your console, go to "System Settings" located on the settings tab on your dashboard. Select "Memory". You will be given the option of selecting anything you wish to delete to free up space to be able to run Kinect.

   The Setup

   Make sure you have the Kinect sensor placed somewhere it can read the people playing. Make sure you are playing somewhere with enough light for Kinect to read you. If Kinect can't read you or detect the area you are in, the setup will not be successful. Kinect will let you know when it can detect people in the area and also if you need to brighten or dim the area. Don't place the Kinect sensor on the side of the TV. For best results, place Kinect at the top of the TV - in the middle, or at the bottom of the TV.

   The Sensor

   If the room is too cold, the sensor will not work. Below 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius), the sensor will not work properly, so make sure the room is warm enough. If the problem persists, even when the temperature is over 70 degrees (21 Celsius), unplug Kinect hardware, and replace it so that it can restart at the right temperature.

Kinect service error- incorrect parameter.

I am using Kinect for Windows V2 dev preview. While running Kinect service I get VVTechs SwitchVersion failed 0x80070057. The error code means 'incorrect parameter'. Any ideas how to fix this?

This is an example of a 'corruption error', which actually hinders any updates on Windows. Therefore, in this particular case, you have to use the System Update Readiness Tool. Only after that can you proceed with whatever you are installing.

Kinect error message: 'Room is too loud'.

The room is perfectly quiet and I have tried to power cycle the console and Kinect, remove all cables, move it to another player - and I'm still getting this error.

If you get the Kinect error message - "Your room is too loud" - the problem is connected with your Kinect speaker volume or calibration tone. This means the Kinect sensor microphone is having trouble hearing you.

• Click on "More Info" to look into the suggestions given on how to properly address the problem.
• Apply the necessary changes.
• Click on "Try Again" to run the test.
• If your Kinect continues to have this calibration tone error, you should make sure the sensor is positioned properly.

Here are things you should check on your Kinect, and surroundings:

• Check if the Kinect sensor is ready. If the light is green then the sensor is connected.
• Enable speech recognition.
• Make sure that the Kinect sensor is at least 3 feet away from any speakers
• Keep the sensor away from direct sunlight.
• Keep the Kinect away from any electronic equipment that vibrates such as your console.
• Reduce external or background noises that can affect sensor.
• Make sure to speak clearly using your natural voice.
• If you are still getting the Kinect error message after trying all these things, then you should run the audio tuner.

Why doesn't my Xbox 360 Kinect microphone hear me?

I am having a problem with my Xbox 360 Kinect. Every time I use it, it won't pick up any sounds, not music or spoken words from me. I also tried Kinect audio tuner, and it's still the same. It doesn't pick up my speaker volume, which why it's always failing. But, my Kinect is in good condition. It is working the way it was, the sensor and the camera. Please help. Thank you.

Sensor turns off when I'm in the middle of a game.

Kinect Error Messages and Descriptions

Red Sensor Light

• Error code C000022D. Kinect sensor has a problem that occurred.
• Error code C00000C2. Kinect sensor has a problem that occurred.
• Error code C005120A. Kinect that has been attached cannot move or move enough.
• Error code C0051202. Insufficient power for your Kinect sensor.
• Error code C0051209. Check the level of the Kinect sensor from where you place it.
• Error code C0051201. The Kinect is not moving or cannot move.

No Sensor Light

• Error code 8000000F. Kinect is turned off or it is not on.
• Error code C000009D. Kinect sensor has been disconnected.
• Error code C000009D. The game you have insert in the console requires the Kinect sensor.
• Error code C000009D. Check if the Kinect sensor is properly connected to the console.
• Error code C000020C. Check the Kinect sensor, as it may have been unplugged.

Flashing Sensor, Color Green

• Error code C0051012. The Kinect sensor may be connected but cannot be verified by the console.
• Error code C00000A3. The Kinect sensor is booting up
• Error code C00000A3. The Kinect sensor is still loading and you may have to wait.

Tracking Errors

• Error code 809b1001. Your play space if not detected or the player is not being detected.
• Error code 809B1002. Insufficient light in the room where you've place the gaming console.
• Error code 809B1003. Reduce light in the room, as it is too bright.
• Error code 809B1004. Face is obscured when scanned.
• Error code 809B1005. Face was not detected.
• Error code 809B1007. Body turn was not scanned properly.
• Error code 809B1008. The player is not being detected by the Kinect sensor
• Error code 809B1009. The head was not being detected by the Kinect sensor
• Error code 809B100A. You or the player is too far from the sensor. Try to move closer.
• Error code 809B100B. You or the player is too close to the Kinect sensor and might need to move a little away from the sensor.
• Error code 809B100C. You or the player is too far to the left side.
• Error code 809B100D. You or the player is too far to the right side.

Sound Errors

• Error codes of 8AC8000B, 8AC8000C, 8AC8000D: These codes mean the Kinect sensor cannot hear any sound or tone. This could also mean that the speaker's volume in your background is too loud. The Kinect cannot hear the 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 calibration tone.
• Error code 809B1080. The microphone is not being detected by the system.
• Error code 809B1081. Your room has too much noise that the system cannot hear the commands.
• Error code 809B1083. Try to raise your voice as you are speaking too low/Softly.
• Error code 809B1084. The volume is too loud from the speaker.
• Error code 809B1085. The volume is too low from the speaker.

My Kinect turns RED while playing or calibrating.

I've installed the Kinect on a flat table, at the bottom of my TV. When I start my Xbox, the Kinect LED is normally green, but when playing a game that needs to move upfront or backwards, it turns to RED and stops working, but without an error number. Please advise what can I do ?

A red light on your Kinect simply means that the sensors are not working properly, Do the following to fix the problem:

• Update your console's software insert game disk>start game at Xbox dashboard>you will get update message>select yes, restart.
• Check if the cables are connected properly (turn off console before doing so).
• Make sure Kinect is not overheating. Wait until Kinect is cool to the touch before turning it on.
• If you've tried all these things and the issue persists, have the console checked by an accredited service center

Xbox 1 kinect sensor has power at the adapter but not at the sensor?

My Kinect is not working, there is power at the adapter but not at the sensor itself. Under settings it looks like I do not have a Kinect sensor connected but it is. I tried another adapter but it still will not power up. Microsoft says they will not fix the Kinect. so I am at a loss at where to get it fixed or if I have to purchase another Kinect sensor. There is nothing in the article about fixing power issues. I have tried: Different cords and a different adapter...………………………………………………….. there is nothing else I can do and I can not get past this point because it says my answers are too short. I think it was caused by: Not sure maybe it just burnt out I have absolutely no clue what's that is why I am on this site
