Fix an iPhone 6 When Stuck in a Program That Won't Close
Edited by Grimm, Courtney, Jen M
You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you what to do when your iPhone 6 is stuck on a program and you can't get out of it or change menu options.
Steps
1
To begin, press the Home button one time
.
2
We will then swipe across to open up the Lock screen
.
3
Now we can enter our passcode, or press our finger down on the Home button
.
This will activate the Touch ID sensor and unlock our device.
4
Now, as we can see we are currently stuck in a menu option
.
5
First we will try locking and unlocking the phone by pressing the Lock button to close the device
.
6
Then we will press the Lock button again, this will activate the phone
.
7
This will bring us to the Lock screen, here we will swipe across the screen
.
This will bring us to another screen where we can enter our passcode.
8
Now we will enter in our passcode or use the Touch ID sensor to unlock the device
.
9
We will note that when unlocked, we are still stuck in this application
.
10
If we try to press the Home button, nothing will happen
.
Double pressing, pressing three times, four times, nothing will happen no matter how many times we press it.
11
In this case, the iPhone is forcing us to choose one of these two options, but at this time we do not want to choose either
.
We simply want to close this application and get out of this options screen. However, the iPhone is forcing us into a position what we have to make a selection, so our only option other than making a choice is to power down and restart the device. Press and hold the Lock or Power button for about 5 seconds.
12
This will open up the power off option, which we will simply slide to power off our phone
.
This option is labeled "slide to power off". Once the phone is powered off, we will restart it.
13
After waiting for a few seconds, we should be able to press and hold the Power button again
.
14
Our phone will start back up, as indicated by the white Apple logo that has appeared on the screen
.
15
We know our phone is ready once we see the Lock screen
.
16
We will now swipe across the screen and enter our PIN code
.
Since we have just restarted the device, we will be unable to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock our phone.
17
This will take us back into our phone, which can now be used without the problems we had previously from the application we were unable to close
.
18
This concludes our tutorial on how to exit an application that will not allow you to exit or close it on the iPhone 6
.
Thank you for choosing VisiHow, we do hope this tutorial has helped you fix the problem with an application that won't close. As ever, have a great day and let us know any comments, questions, or suggestions in the area below.
