To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone

Swipe the lock screen up to get to the home screen

On the home screen, find the Maps tile
.
It has a blue background with a white map inside. If Maps has not been pinned to the home screen, swipe to the left to open the Apps menu. Then scroll to find the Maps application.

One way to search for shops is to first go to your current location by pressing the third icon at the bottom of the screen
.
The icon has a white dot with a circle around it. Then you can search for shops in your immediate area.

To search for shops in a different area, tap on the search icon

This is the magnifying glass icon on the far right at the bottom of the screen.

Type a location in the search bar at the top of the screen to search for shops near that location

To search for nearby businesses, press the first icon at the bottom of the screen
.
It has an image of white buildings on it. This is the scout function. If there aren't as many businesses near your current location, this could affect the search results.

Swipe across the screen to find the "shop" category

This will give a list of local shops.

Underneath each business name, it shows the address as well as how far away that shop is

Shops are listed in rank by distance, number 1 being the closest.

To filter the list of shops by something besides distance and location, tap on the word "distance" next to "sorted by" at the top of the list

Pressing the text box below "Sort by" will provide the option to sort results by rating or distance

Check the box in front of one of the categories to bring up a list of those types of shops

Now, it will show a list of shops related to the selected category

Stars next to a business means it has been rated, but there are no stars on this list. Therefore, none of these businesses have been rated.

Tap on a business name to bring up more information about it

In the "about" section, it lists an address and phone number

It also lists opening hours, and it shows this shop is open now. Stores or businesses in other areas may list more or less information.

To phone the business, press the phone number, and the Microsoft Lumia 535 will automatically dial the number
