Edited by Jay
One thing that has changed since we as a society have transitioned into using minicomputers for cell phones, is our readiness to memorize phone numbers. With today's tech, you can add or create a contact without ever having to look at a number, let alone memorize it. This applies to our personal phone number as well, although most of us can recite it eventually, the process admittedly takes longer than it did back in the day.
The steps below will guide you through the process of finding your phone number on any Android device running Nougat. In addition to your phone number, we've also included steps on how to get the IMEI number of your device, with two methods. The IMEI number is required when you go to unlock a device, so being able to access it fast is valuable information. It can also tell you quickly if your device is compatible with a particular carrier.

Tips, Tricks and Warnings
- If you don't see a phone number, but instead your device displays Unknown, shut down your phone and reinstall the SIM card. If you still see Unknown for your number, contact your carrier for more help.
- A useful trick to help remember your number is to write it down a few times when you first get it.
- It's also a good idea to write down or take a screenshot of your devices IMEI number when you acquire a new phone. In the event it gets stolen, you can contact your provider, and they can blacklist the device from connecting to the network.
