First, we're going to turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone

Then we're going to swipe up to enter the Home screen

We need Cortana to carry out this task, so we're just going to press the search icon, which is the small magnifying glass at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen

Now, it's very important to mention that Cortana only comes activated with phones inside the United States of America

If your phone is from outside of the United States of America, Cortana will exist on your phone, but it will not be activated. You will need to activate it by changing a few very simple settings. You can find a how-to video to do this on this website. Search for how to change or how to activate Cortana in a phone from outside of the United States. Watch that video and learn how to do it. Then come back and watch this video to learn how to do this quite interesting task. For now, imagine we're in a cafe, drinking a latte, and we can hear a song playing over the radio. We're very intrigued and excited by it, and we want to know who it's by, so we can go home and purchase it or borrow it from a friend. What we need to do is press the musical note icon at the top of the screen.

Then Cortana is going to tell us what song is currently playing

What I'm going to do is play a song for you, and press the musical note. Then we'll see what happens. It will take a few seconds, so bear with me.
