First, push the power button at the bottom of your phone to turn it on

Swipe across the screen from left to right to unlock the phone

Now, I need to go to the Social folder, where I keep all of my social applications

The Instagram icon looks like a camera, so find that and press it

In order to find people to follow, I need to go to my profile

We can do this by tapping on the person icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.

After you open your profile, you will need to tap on the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen

This will bring up a list of options.

There are several ways to find people to follow
.
One way is to find people from your Facebook list. You can find your Facebook friends who are also registered on Instagram.

The second way is to find people who are saved in your Contact list

Let's start with trying to find your Facebook friends

Tap on Facebook Friends at the top of the list.

You can tap on the name or photo of the person, and it will take you to his or her profile, where you could look through pictures

You can scroll down and see if you are interested in adding that person.

You can tap Follow near the top of the screen to follow the person

Now, tap the left arrow at the top left corner of the screen to go back and find another person

You don't have to open each person's profile in order to follow them on Instagram
.
Alternatively, you could just press the Follow button located on the right side across from the person's name. This is the quickest way to do it. However, opening the profile is useful if you want to see all of the pictures available from that person.

Tap on the left arrow at the top right corner of the screen to go back to Options

Now, let's try to find contacts from the phone's Contact list

Just like we did previously with our Facebook friends, you can tap on the Follow button to the right of each person's name to follow them

You can also open a person's profile to see more details before choosing to follow that person

A third way to find people to follow on Instagram is to tap on the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen

It is the second icon from the left.

This will bring up several photos that have been liked by the people you are already following

If you see a photo that sparks your interest, tap on it to open the picture and get more information about it

You can choose to follow that person by pressing the Follow button at the top right corner above the photo.

Another way to search for people to follow is to tap on PEOPLE on the top right of the Search screen

This will bring up people who are being followed by your friends, but it will show a bit more information than just photos.

To choose a person to follow from this page, tap on the button just above their pictures on the far right-hand side of the screen
