Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to filter the See and Do section when using the Microsoft Maps application on a Microsoft Lumia 535.
To get started, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone.
Once the phone is activated, swipe the lock screen up to open the home screen.
On the home screen, find the Maps tile. It has a blue background with a white map in the middle. If Maps has not been pinned to the home screen, swipe left to find it in the Apps menu.
Once Maps has been located, press on it to enter the application. Maps will open the last location viewed. For this demonstration, it has brought up a map of London. This is beneficial because the See and Do option works best in more popular areas. When searching in a less well-known area, there will be fewer options available.
Press the first icon at the bottom of the screen. It is a white circle with some white buildings inside. This is the scout option. The Microsoft Lumia 535 will then scout the area for places of interest.
The first option shown is "eat+drink." To learn how to filter the search results for this function, search this website for a video on how to do that.
Swipe to the left to open the "see+do" screen. This shows different places of interest, each with its own square. Some have images, and some only have a blue tile with a name. Swipe up and down to scroll through them.
Press on "categories" above the results on the left side.
On the next screen are several filter options. They include, "Historical sites," "Museums," "Tourist attractions," and "Zoos." Any number of these filters can be chosen.
Tap on a checkbox to the left to put a check in the box or to remove a check. For this demonstration, we will be focusing on "Museums."
Now, tap on the arrow at the lower left corner of the screen.
Now, it is searching for Museums, so those types of places will be listed.
Pressing on a square will bring up more information about that business.
To change the filter options, press "categories" again and select types of attractions as desired. Unselect "Museums" and select "Zoos," for example.
Press the left arrow at the bottom of the screen to go back.
Now, it lists local zoos.
This concludes our tutorial on how to filter the See and Do section when using the Microsoft Maps application on a Microsoft Lumia 535. If you have any questions or comments about this video or about the application itself, then please leave them in the comment section below, and we shall answer them for you.
