We need to tap the "Whose messages do I want filtered into my inbox?" section to enter the option. "Basic filtering" is written underneath, indicating the selection. Tapping the section will show a page with two different options. The option currently selected is marked with the blue check. The option says, "Basic Filtering - Recommended", and, "Mostly see messages from friends or people you may know." This means that Facebook is going to allow the inbox to accept messages from people we have any connection with or from people we may know: friends of friends or people in the same group, city, or organization as we. The other option is "Strict Filtering". It says, "Mostly see messages from friends. Messages from people you want to hear from may go to your Other folder." With strict filtering, we are going to receive messages from our friends. All of the others will be filtered into the "Other" folder.
