You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to filter your search results on the Amazon app using the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, unlock the phone by pressing the lock button on the right-hand side
.
Alternatively, press the home button at the bottom. This will bring up the lock screen.
2
Swipe right and enter the passcode
.
Alternatively, press your finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if that option is enabled.
3
Find and tap on the Amazon icon
.
The icon itself is white with "amazon" in black, with a blue shopping cart below it. This will open up the application.
4
It will automatically take us to the home page where it offers us the most popular products, or items Amazon thinks we will like judging by other things we've been looking at
.
We can also use the search bar along the top. Refer to another video on VisiHow to learn how to do that. For now, to save time, we're just going to quickly search for "books" to use as an example. It spinning circle will indicate that it is loading the results page.
5
We can see how many results there are in the top left corner
.
6
Tap on "Filter" in the top right-hand corner to filter the results
.
It is underneath of the search bar with an arrow pointing down.
7
Because we're in books, we can filter by the department, or other options such as format, language, genre, condition, etc
.
We will tap on "Book Language" for an example.
8
We can then tap on the language we want
.
In this case, it's English. If we tap on English, it will only show English books. The spinning circle on the right-hand side indicates that it's loading.
9
Tap on "Clear" or tap on the same option (English, in this case) to clear that filter
.
10
We can go through different filters and choose the ones we're interested in
.
For genres, we can tap on whichever ones we want, and it will update the results each time.
11
We can tap on "Clear All" in the top right-hand corner if we decide we want to go back to the full results list
.
12
We can also tap on "Department" to specify exactly what type of books we're after
.
We're currently in "Literature & Fiction" but if we want classics, we can tap on "Classics", which will then highlight with orange.
13
Tap off of the filter area to close that and view the results
.
14
We can tap on whichever item we're interested in to bring up information about that particular product
.
15
The filter options will be different depending on the product
.
For books, there's quite a lot of genres and things we can choose from, but we can choose things as we like. We will tap "Clear All" to get back to the screen it first offered us in this particular search.
16
Tap the back arrow in the top left corner until we are at the home screen where we began
.
17
Alternatively, tap on the 3 horizontal gray lines and tap "Home" which is the first option
.
This will take us back to where we began and we can continue browsing.
18
This concludes the tutorial on how to filter your search results on the Amazon application on the iPhone 6
.
