Tips and Suggestions for Factory Resetting Digital2 Tablets

The following tips will help reset your D2 Android Tab to its factory default state.

  • These instructions are based on the default device. If you've updated or altered your system, the instructions for you might be a little different.
  • Make sure your device is fully charged. Losing power part way through resetting an Android device to a factory default state can leave your device in an unrecoverable state.
  • Back up your data. Any information on your D2 Tablet will be deleted when you perform a Factory Reset.
  • Do not plug in or unplug your device to any power or USB ports while you are performing a factory restore unless you have been specifically instructed to do so by alternate instructions from Digital2.

I reset my tablet but it won't turn back ON now?

That is really all I did.

Try to take the battery out for a minute, put it back, and hard-reset the device again.

If that still does not help, then the firmware is probably corrupt. To fix that, download the latest firmware file to your PC [1] for the moment. Install [2] and follow the instructions on the page (launch LiveSuit.exe too). Switch back to your browser.

Now, switch bootup LiveSuit utility. Click "Yes" to enter the utility. Click "Mandatory" to select the update mode. Unplug your tablet from your PC. Click "Next". To select the firmware file, click "Yes", and browse to and double-click the firmware file for your D2. Now, to the last part. Connect the USB cable to your PC. Connect the USB to your tablet while holding the upgrade key (it looks like an arrow) on your tablet. The computer should recognize your device, and a dialogue will pop up. Release the upgrade key.

If it does not recognize the device, right-click "My Computer", click "Manage", click "Device Manager", click "Universal Serial Bus Controller", and find and double-click "USB device (VID_1f3a...)". Update the device under the "Driver" tab. Select "Browse my computer for driver software", double-click the "USB driver" folder in the LiveSuit location. Click "Next" to update the driver.

If it still does not recognize the device, download the ADB installer at [3] or at [4] and install it. Then go back and try to connect the device again.

After your device has been connected, check your LiveSuit window. To format your tablet, click "Yes". Click "Yes" again to proceed with the update. When the process finishes, disconnect your tablet and reboot it.

I have followed the instructions a representative gave me, but did not erase anything. I see no difference in how it is working?

Tablet does not respond to anything. Says there is trouble with the connection. It was working okay until about a month ago, then seemed to freeze in place. The email from one month ago is still there. A representative gave me instructions, but I was afraid to choose erase because it said this could not be reversed. Tablet will not accept updates.. I have tried: SETTINGS > BACKUP & RESET > UNCHECK AUTOMATIC RESTORE AND BACK UP MY DATA (IN THAT ORDER) > FACTORY DATA RESET > RESET MY TABLET. I think it was caused by: Don't know what caused it. Would not accept updates. Went for a long time without being used.
