How to Factory Reset Your Digital2 D2-912 9" Tablet
Follow these steps to reset the D2912 to it's factory default state.
The Digital2 D2-912 Home Tablet is an Android powered device that can be reset to a factory default state, if you know what buttons to press, and how to press them. This guide will explain exactly how to do that, so you can restore your device if necessary.
- 1Shut down the Tablet, so that it is off.
- 2Once it is turned off, press and hold both the 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down' buttons.
- 3Without releasing either of the 'Volume Up' or 'Volume Down' buttons, also press and hold the 'Power' button.
- 4Holding all three buttons, wait until you see the Android logo appear (10-15 seconds).
- 5Continue to hold all three buttons until the Android logo becomes a broken Android robot.
- 6Release all three buttons, and you should see the 'Android System Recovery' menu selection screen appear.
- 7Use the 'Volume Down' button to scroll down the menu until the 'wipe data/Factory Reset' option is highlighted.
- 8Press the 'Power' button to select the 'wipe data/Factory Reset' option.
- 9Now use the 'Volume Down' button to scroll to 'Yes --delete all user data'.
- 10Press the 'Power' button to select the 'Yes --delete all user data' option.
- 11Wait for a few minutes while your device completes the process of resetting itself to a factory default state.
- 12You have now completed these steps, and after a few minutes, your device will be ready to use.
Tips and Suggestions for Factory Resetting Digital2 Tablets
The following tips will help reset your D2 Android Tab to it's factory default state.
- Make sure your device is fully charged. Losing power part way through resetting an Android device to a factory default state can leave your device in an unrecoverable state.
- Back up your data. Any information on your D2 Tablet will be deleted when you perform a Factory Reset.
- Do not plug in or unplug your device to any power or USB ports while you are performing a factory restore, unless you have been specifically instructed to do so by alternate instructions from Digital2.
Questions and Answers
I forgot my password D2-912 tablet?
I have a problem, on my tablet D2-912 I put a password at start-up and no longer remember it. My question is, how can I fix it?
Any time you forget your password on any Android device, the very first thing you should do is try to use the Google Account Recovery Tool, which will allow you to remotely reset your device password over the internet. Once you do that, you'll need to set a new password, and will then have full access to your device once more.
For other forms of password resetting, unfortunately only the Digital2 D2-927 and D2-727 officially support password resets through software. You can however still try the steps we've listed, but be prepared - they are quite complex. You can read about how to Reset Your Digital2 D2 Tablet Password in the linked article.
I have the 927 model tab and it won't let me Factory Reset?
When I press and hold both vol. keys and the power I have to release the power or it will cut off. It then takes me to the broken Android picture. When I release the power buttons nothing appears and when the screen goes blank it just resets the whole system.
