How to Factory Reset Your Digital2 D2-712 7" Tablet
Follow these steps to reset the D2712 to it's factory default state.
A small and lightweight Android Tablet that is very inexpensive, the Digital2 D2-712 appeals to many families, especially those with children. However, restoring the Digital2 Tablet with a Factory Reset can be quite challenging, as it requires a number of odd steps that aren't standard to mainstream Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy series, or the Sony Xperia. This guide will walk you through the steps to factory restore your D2 Tablet, so that you can restore your device if needed.
- 1Power down your D2 Tablet.
- 2When it is off, press and hold both the 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down' buttons.
- 3While continuing to hold both of these buttons, also press and hold the 'Power' button.
- 4Continue holding these three buttons for 10 to 15 seconds.
- 5Continue holding all three buttons when the Android logo appears.
- 6When the logo is replaced with an image of a broken Android robot, you may release the three buttons.
- 7You should now see the 'Android System Recovery' selection screen.
- 8Using your 'Volume Down' button, scroll to the 'wipe data/Factory Reset' option.
- 9Press the 'Power' button to select the 'wipe data/Factory Reset' option.
- 10Using the 'Volume Down' button, scroll to the 'Yes - delete all user data' option.
- 11Press the 'Power' button to select the 'Yes - delete all user data' option.
- 12After a few minutes your device should complete the Factory Reset, and you should be able to use it again.
Tips and Suggestions for Factory Resetting Digital2 Tablets
The following tips will help reset your D2 Android Tab to it's factory default state.
- Make sure your device is fully charged. Losing power part way through resetting an Android device to a factory default state can leave your device in an unrecoverable state.
- Back up your data. Any information on your D2 Tablet will be deleted when you perform a Factory Reset.
- Do not plug in or unplug your device to any power or USB ports while you are performing a factory restore, unless you have been specifically instructed to do so by alternate instructions from Digital2.

Can this be fixed, my power button broke?
My power button is broken and pushed through into the back of the tablet
Get Tweezers, spudger, plastic opening tools, and Phillips #0 screwdriver.
Use plastic opening tools, tweezers, or anything flat and tiny to get to the button and move it so that it pops back out.
If you broke the button's internal mounting to the motherboard or the switch connector is off the motherboard, you have to return it to the Ditigal2-certified or any other service center.
Otherwise, you can try to repair D2 yourself, but it will void the warranty. Get glue for plastic and a miniature soldering iron.
Put the tablet with the screen facing upwards. Take the SD card or any cables out. Find the charging port. To the right of it, insert the plastic opening tools into the gap between the case and the display. Pry it a bit open and continue prying around the entire tablet.
Separate the back cover from the display. You will see the motherboard (green), the battery (white), the cameras (next to the battery, black), but you need the power switch. Carefully locate it next to the volume buttons and see if the connector sits tightly in the motherboard. If you see any broken parts inside, clean the tablet. Now, observe the damage and see what you can do. If the button is not lined up and you cannot put it in place, line it up and use a drop of glue that would keep it in place. Let the glue dry and push the button with a toothpick to see if it clicks. If it does, it should be fixed. You might need to solder the connector too. Do it with a surgical precision, as any blob might create short circuits.
Reassemble D2 by placing the cover back carefully.
