Edited by Freya, Kellin Quinn, Eng
You're watching VisiHow. In this video, I'm going to explain how to enable or disable the vacation responder for Gmail on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, the phone needs to be unlocked
.
This can be done by pressing the lock or home button.
2
3
Enter your passcode or use the fingerprint scanner
.
4
Find the Gmail icon, which is this one here with the envelope
.
Tap on it once. We'll see when it's opened up that it already has access to an email address so it's taken us to our primary email list. Refer to another video where it is explained how to connect an email with the Gmail application.
5
Go to the top left-hand corner and tap on the three horizontal lines to bring up the Gmail menu
.
6
Tap on the gear icon at the top of the menu
.
7
Scroll down to "Vacation Responder" and tap on the switch toggle beside it to enable or disable it
.
In this case, we'll be enabling it. While it's enabled, we'll be able to adjust the time we'll be on vacation.
8
Press on the "Start" calendar to enter the start date of the vacation or away time
.
9
Tap on whichever day of whichever month this particular away time will be starting
.
10
Press on the "End" calendar to enter the end date of the vacation
.
11
Again, press whichever day the vacation ends on
.
12
Enter a subject by tapping on the "Subject" text area
.
13
Enter a message by tapping on the "Message" text area
.
14
There's a toggleable option to "Only Send a Response to People in My Contacts." This means that the vacation message will only be in response to those in our contacts and will not be sent to random people that send emails to us
.
Tap on the toggle switch to enable or disable it.
15
Once all has been filled out and edited, press "Save."

This is a VisiHow video and I've just shown explained how to enable or disable the vacation responder for Gmail on the iPhone 6
