Edited by Thor, Ash0hley, Jen M
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn on or off the option for the HTC One M8 to say passwords when they are entered.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen
.
Hold down, and swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen. At the bottom, there will be icons.
3
Now, we need to find the "Settings" menu
.
To do that, we swipe the notification panel down. To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down.
4
Now that the notification panel has appeared, here is the icon we're looking for
.
In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon. This is our settings icon. Press down on it, and it will open up our "Settings menu".
5
We can see it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen
.
6
Now we'll scroll down until we get to the "PERSONAL" section
.
It says the word "PERSONAL" inside of a gray bar.
7
In this section, we need to find the option called, "Accessibility"
.
Next to the word is an icon of a hand. Press down on this option. Our "Accessibility" menu will open.
8
We need to scroll down until we get to the "SYSTEM" section
.
It says the word "SYSTEM" in a gray bar.
9
In this section, we are looking for the option called, "Speak passwords"
.
This function allows the HTC One M8 to say the passwords when we enter them. It is very useful if we have problems with our vision, or if we are blind. It helps us to know that we have entered the correct password. The function is currently deactivated. The box, located on the right-hand side of the screen, is empty.
10
If we want to activate this function, we press down on the box
.
The box will turn green with a white check mark inside.
11
If we do not want our HTC One M8 to say our passwords aloud, then we can turn this option off, simply by pressing down on the box
.
Now the box is empty, and the function is no longer active.
12
This then, concludes our tutorial on how to turn on and off the option for the HTC One M8 to say passwords when they entered
.
