Edited by Thor, Ash0hley, Eng
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how we can turn on or off sound feedback when typing on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen
.
Hold down, and swipe up.
3
Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen
.
At the bottom, there will be icons.
4
Now, we need to find the settings icon, for the "Settings" menu
.
To do that, we swipe the notification panel down. To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down.
5
Now that the notification panel has appeared, here is the icon we're looking for
.
In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon. This is our settings icon. Press down on it, and it will open up our "Settings menu".
6
We can see it says the word "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen
.
7
Now we'll scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section
.
It will say the word "PHONE" in a gray bar.
8
Scroll down further until we find the words "Language & keyboard"
.
Next to these words in an icon that looks like a capital 'A' inside of a 3D box. Press down on this section, and our "Language & keyboard" options will open.
9
It says, "HTC Sense Input, keyboard options". Press down on this section. It will bring up another menu.
10
The function that we want is called, "Sound feedback"
.
Press down on this section. It will bring up some options. Sound feedback means that every time we type, we will hear a noise to confirm that we have pressed the screen.
11
We can select between these four options
:
"None", "Quiet", "Normal", and "Loud". We are going to select loud. That way, when we see an example, you may be able to hear it. Press down then, on the word loud.
12
Now it says the word "Loud" under "Sound feedback"
.
13
Now, we need to go back to the home screen
.
We can do that by pressing the home screen icon. It looks like a small white house, located at the bottom of the screen. Press down on it, and it will take us back to the home screen.
14
Look for the "Messages" icon
.
It looks like a white text box with three horizontal green lines. Press down on this and our messages will open.
15
Choose a message to use for an example, and press down on it
.
16
Then, press down on the words "Add text" at the bottom of the screen
.
Our keyboard will appear on the screen.
17
Now, we can see that while typing, there will be a sound feedback
.
We can now hear the clicks every time I'm typing, I will get sound feedback. It's not particularly necessary to have "Sound feedback" turned on. Some people like it, because it confirms what they are typing. If we wanted to change the volume, follow the same procedure. Go to the "Settings" menu, to the same area, and then change it that way.
18
This then, concludes our tutorial on how to turn on or off "Sound feedback" while typing on an HTC One M8
.
