Edited by Hotelier, Rushell, Eng
Hello. Thank you for watching VisiHow. Today, we will show you how to enable and disable the viewing of your search history on Google Settings on the LG L70.
Steps
1
To begin, we'll unlock the phone by pressing the Power button on the top right-hand side of the phone
.
2
Then swipe the screen upwards one time to go to the home screen
.
3
From the home screen, we need to access Google Settings, which we can find by pressing the "Apps" icon
.
It is located on the bottom right-hand corner of the home screen, and it is a gray box with several white squares inside of it.
4
Tapping on that icon one time will open a list of all the applications that are currently installed on the phone
.
This list of applications is in alphabetical order.
5
We can scroll right or left across the screen until we find the icon for "Google Settings"
.
It's a gear-shaped icon with a lowercase "g" inside o it.
6
Tapping on that icon one time will open our "Google Settings" menu
.
The first option is for "Account History". This is the option we want since we want to update whether or not our search history is visible.
7
Tap on that option one time
.
8
Currently, our "Account History" is private, so no one else is able to view it
.
The rest of our "Account History" settings are listed on this screen as well.
9
"Web & App Activity" is currently "On"
.
10
"Device Information" is "Paused"
.
11
"Voice & Audio Activity" is also "Paused"
.
12
"YouTube Search History" and "YouTube Watch History" are both "On"
.
13
At the bottom, "Google Location History" is "Off"
.
14
Let's tap on "Web & App Activity" at the top to take a closer look at that
.
15
On the next screen we can see that across from the word "On" is a blue square with a white check mark inside of it
.
This tells us that "Web & App Activity" is currently being stored. We can disable this and pause it, so we're searching more anonymously.
16
To do that, tap on the blue box on the right one time
.
This will remove the check, and a confirmation message will appear.
17
This message asks if we want to "Pause Web & App Activity"
.
It also says that it does not delete the activity we have in the past, although we can delete that in another way. This will simply "Pause" the storage from this point onward.
18
If we do want to do this, we can simply select the bottom right-hand option, which says "PAUSE"
.
19
The box on the right side of the screen is now blank, and on the left side it does say "Paused"
.
20
To close this option and return to the home screen, we can press the bottom center button one time or the back button on the left side
.
21
In order to reenter that screen, we can do so by pressing the "Apps" icon, which is the gray box with the white squares
.
22
Then find the icon for "Google Settings", which is the gear-shaped icon with the "g"
.
23
We can go back into our "Account History", which is the first option
.
24
We can see our "Web & App Activity" is currently "Paused"
.
25
To turn this back on, so we are now from hear on out recording our web activity, we can tap on the "Web & App Activity" option one time
.
26
Once again, press on the box on the right-hand side of the screen
.
This will reinsert a check mark and bring up a confirmation message.
27
The message is asking if we want to "Turn on Web & App Activity"
.
28
If we do want to do this, we'll need to tap one time on "TURN ON" at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen
.
29
Now, the box once again is blue with a check mark, and it tells us that "Web & App Activity" is currently turned "On"
.
Now, we are recording our search history.
30
Once again, to close this and go back to the home screen, we can press the bottom center button one time
.
