Enable or Disable Quick Call by Swipe on HTC One M8

Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on or off the option to allow quick calling by swiping when using the HTC One M8.

Steps

    To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone. Once the phone is activated we will see the lock screen.

    To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen and at the bottom we will see 5 icons.

    We need to find the settings menu and to do that, we can swipe the notification panel down. To do that, press and hold at the top of the phone, then swipe down. The notification panel will appear.

    We are looking for the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. This is our settings icon. Press down on it to open up the settings menu. It will say "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

    We need to scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section, then tap on "Display & gestures". There is a phone icon next to it. Press down on this option to open the display and gestures options.

    Scroll down to "Motion Launch gestures" in the "GESTURES" section. We want to demonstrate how to turn on or off the option to allow quick calling by swiping. What that means is that when the phone is asleep, we can actually activate the quick calling or voice dialing just by pressing on the screen and swiping down.

    It is currently turned on, as we can see by the green box with a white checkmark. We may want to turn this option off so that we don't accidentally activate the application when the screen is asleep.

    To turn the option off, tap on the checkbox until the box is empty and the checkmark is gone.
