To begin, press the lock button on the right-hand side of the phone
.
2
Alternatively, we can unlock our phone by pressing the home button at the bottom of the screen

As an alternative to entering your passcode, put your finger on the home button to use the fingerprint scanner.

Find the settings icon, which is grey with a grey gear inside
.
5
Scroll down to the bottom where applications are listed in alphabetical order, and tap on "Kik" which is indicated by the Kik icon on the left side
.
6
Tap on "Notifications" which is the middle option
.
7
Enable notifications by tapping on the bubble beside "Allow Notifications"

Tap on "None", "Banners", or "Alerts" at the bottom to select the format that notifications will be shown
.
The ring around the word indicates that the option is selected.

Tap on "Kik" in the top-left corner to go back
.
The options will automatically save.
16
Press the home button once
.
17
Find the Kik icon, which is white with a black speech bubble, and tap it once to open the application
.
18
Tap on the gear icon in the top-left corner to open the settings menu
.
