Hello! Welcome to VisiHow! In this video, we are going to show you how to turn login approvals on and off in Facebook on the Microsoft Lumia 535.
To begin, we turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone. Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, we swipe the screen upwards. Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen.
We need to find the Facebook tile on the home screen. The tile has a blue background with a Facebook icon in the bottom right-hand corner. The icon is a white square with the blue "f" inside. Tapping the tile will open up the application.
We need to tap the icon with three horizontal lines to open up a menu. The icon is in the top right-hand corner.
We need to tap the "Settings" option to open up a menu.
We tap the "Privacy settings" section to open up a menu.
We need to tap the "Security" option at the top of the screen. We tap the word, and a menu will be shown.
We need to tap the "Login Approvals On" option. Currently, the option is turned off, because the check box is empty. If we tap the box, we can turn the option on.
We enter our password. The screen will show "For your security, please re-enter your password to continue". The video section is going to be left out to avoid revealing the password. After we enter our password, there will be some information on the screen. Specifically, "When logging in from an unknown browser, you'll need a security code. You can only get security codes from your phone's Facebook app or by text message. By entering the code, you can prove that it's really you trying to log In." What this means is that if we try to log into Facebook account from an unknown browser, we'll need to enter a security code. This is just another way to protect our account if we are using Facebook, for example, in the Internet cafe or insecure network.
We tap the "Start Setup" blue bar. The application will say, "We'll text a code to ..." and list our number, "to confirm that it's your number."
We tap the "Continue" blue bar. Facebook is going to send us a text message with a code.
We tap the input box with "Confirmation Code".
We enter our code that we have just received by SMS.
Once we've entered our code, we tap the "Continue" blue bar. That will take us to the next stage. The application will say: "You're done setting up Login Approvals. You can turn off Login Approvals without a code for the first week."
If we want, actually, the codes to work right away, we tap the "No, thanks. Require a code right away." box to check it. We can select this option.
We tap "Close" in the blue bar. This will close the option and take us back to the previous screen. We will see that "Login Approvals On" will have a blue check in the box. Now, the login approvals are turned on. If we try to log into Facebook from an unknown browser or device, Facebook will ask for a password or a pass key (the special numbers that we have entered).
If we want to turn the "Login Approvals On" option off, we tap the blue box. The new page will say, "Disable Login Approvals".
We tap the blue bar with "Disable Login Approvals". That will disable the option.
