Enable or Disable Location Tagging for Gallery Photos on HTC One M8
Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on or off the option to add locations to photos in the Gallery application on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up
.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.
3
We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen
.
There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.
4
Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap on the Gallery application
.
It has an icon of a photo, and the photo looks like some yellow sand dunes. Underneath it says the word "Gallery".
5
We now want to go to the settings menu by tapping the 3 horizontal lines in the top left-hand corner
.
6
7
The last option is "Event locations" and underneath it says, "Automatically add location to events (uses data connection)"
.
So, this automatically adds location to our photos. If we want the option to be selected, which is the default setting, we can leave the white checkmark in the green box.
8
If we want to turn it off so that it doesn't add our location to events, then press down on the box until it's empty
.
Tap it again to turn it on again.
9
This concludes the tutorial on how to turn on or off the option to add locations to photos in the Gallery application on an HTC One M8
.
