Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on or off the option to play tones when using the keypad on the HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   .

   Once the phone is activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and swipe up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen and at the bottom we will see 5 icons.

   We need to find the settings menu and to do that, we can swipe the notification panel down

   To do that, press and hold at the top of the phone, then swipe down. The notification panel will appear.

   We are looking for the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   This is our settings icon. Press down on it to open up the settings menu. It will say "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

   We need to scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section, then tap on "Sound & notification"

   .

   There is a speaker with some sound waves emanating from it next to it. Press down on this option to open the sound and notification options.

   We need to scroll down until we get to the "SYSTEM" section, then tap on the checkbox next to "Keyboard touch tones, Play tones when using dial pad"

   .

   What this option will do is play tones when we're using the dial pad. It will make noises to let us know that each button is being pressed. However, this does use some battery, and it can be quite loud and irritating, especially if we're in a crowded environment and people have to listen to the constant sounds of keys being pressed. Tapping on the green box with the white checkmark will turn the option off. The checkmark will disappear and the box will be white.

   However, if we do want this option on, we can tap on the box so that the white checkmark appears
