Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn on or off the Google SafeSearch filter on an HTC One M8.

Steps

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, press down on the screen

Hold down, and swipe up. Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen. At the bottom, there will be icons.

Now, we need to find the "Settings" menu

To do that, we swipe the notification panel down. To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down.

Now that the notification panel has appeared, here is the icon we're looking for

In the top right-hand corner of the screen, there is a white cog icon. This is our settings icon. Press down on it, and it will open up our "Settings menu".

Now we'll scroll down until we get to the "PERSONAL" section

We are looking for the option called, "Accounts & sync"

Next to it, is the "Accounts & sync" icon, which looks like a small gray circle, with two gray arrows around it, making another circle. Press down on this section. We will enter our "Accounts & sync" menu.

We want this option, "MANAGE ACCOUNTS"

Specifically, our Google account. Press down on the word "Google".

Once there, we want the option called "Search"

It is underneath the gray bar that says "SETTINGS AND PRIVACY". Press down on the word "Search".

Now press down on the "Accounts & privacy" section at the top

The "SafeSearch Filter" is the option we need
.
It says underneath it, "SafeSearch is not active." The icon on the right-hand side of the screen is gray. This means it's inactive. This function helps to keep us safe while searching the internet by Google. It will filter out some of the adult topics. If there is anything that is unsuitable or graphic in nature, it will help to filter the adult content. That way, we won't see it while searching.

If we want to turn this option on, press down on the icon, until it turns blue

If we don't want the safe search filter to be activated, then press down on the icon until it turns gray.
