As far as we understand, your phone uses the loudspeaker when you are calling someone or someone calls you. It is a problem that may have many fixes.
Update your phone.
- 1Press the home button.
- 2Tap on "Apps".
- 3Tap on "Settings".
- 4Tap on "About"
- 5If there are any upgrades, then install them.Tap on "Software updates".
Soft-reset the phone.
- 1Turn off the phone.
- 2Remove the battery.
- 3Press and hold the power button to discharge the phone for 10 minutes.

Disable the docking mode.

Remove any third-party volume controlling applications that you have installed recently. Install SoundAbout, which will allow you to force output into the earpiece. Clean your USB port just in case. Use compressed air to clean the USB port of your phone.
Clear partition cache.
- 1Turn off your phone.
- 2Press and hold the volume-down and power buttons until an Android picture appears.
- 3Using the volume-down button, select "wipe cache partition".
- 4Select "reboot system now".
Now, if nothing works, hard-reset your HTC One M8. Go into "Apps", "Settings", "Backup and Reset", and "Reset Phone". Confirm the reset.
